Featuring an overlook of the surrounding lands, Cedar Breaks National Monument displays an amazing amphitheater that boasts many interesting limestone formations. The scenic drive up to the edge of the overlook makes seeing the sights easy, but the road is closed during the snowy months of winter and early spring, open only to those who wish to travel on foot, ski or snowshoe. During the summer, there are miles of hiking trails available, as well as a small campground for overnight stays. The monument is surrounded by Dixie National Forest, located just off of UT-148 which is east of Cedar City.
Scenic drive open daily late May - early winter (dates vary depending on snowfall). Visitor center open daily late May - mid-Oct: 8:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.; Closed mid-Oct - late May.
Entry fee (7 day pass): Adults $4; Children 15 and under are free.
